Cayo Coco, Cuba. 2020

Back to the land of the living.

It’s a bittersweet, because I’m truly not a winter person but I embrace it the best of my ability.

✨I weighed myself before vacation and again today- as my first kinda day home since we got home at 4:30am after our flight.
💫In December, our Mexico vacation kicked my ass and I gained a lot of weight during that week.
🌴I’ve really learned a few things for a successful, enjoyable, fitness/goal oriented vacation🌴

• I drank alcohol BUT more than half my drinks were made with water. I also brought a handful of different water enhancers in my handy dandy beach bag.

• I followed my meal plan for the first half of the vacation strictly

• I enjoyed meals with foods I normally don’t eat on a regular basis. Including fresh, homemade, local bread. Although I did have a slice here and there, my plate also consisted of fresh fish every day, proteins, and a variety of cheeses. I had a few bites of ice cream twice in the week. No dessert, or squares.

• I walked a lot, and made sure I got a minimum of 30 fat burning minutes a day. Usually I hit 60 minutes. I made sure I hustled while hiking, beach walking, and loved freestyle swimming as exercises.

• We packed healthy snacks including pepperettes, pistachios, cashews, and protein bars. We brought these to the beach, and poolside in our beach bags.

• We focused on our daily activities, and fun. Instead of putting the focus on the food.

• We were offered 5 ala carts (rather than the 2-3), but the buffet was more of a variety for both of us to enjoy our foods, and to control what we eat.
